I’ve long considered the Fourth of July the official kickoff to beach season, but this isn’t a typical summer. Depending on where you live, there are no fireworks, no barbecues, no open beaches. But that’s all the more reason for a little retail therapy, in my opinion, so I rounded up 11 swimsuits I’m obsessing over this summer. I love a holiday party. (Though if I’m being totally honest, I’d prefer to skip big holiday bashes. Small, intimate parties are more my jam.) Thanksgiving gives us the opportunity to pause, sit down, and reflect on what we are thankful for. Every Thanksgiving, like many of you, my family has a tradition of going around the table to say what we’re grateful for. (Me? I’m most thankful when someone else does the cooking.) I know it’s a little cliché, but it’s a sweet ritual and I look forward to hearing what the boys come up with each year. It also reminds me that I should be practicing gratitude more often—not just when I’m shoveling another bite of stuffing into my mouth. Because between diaper changes and shuttling the boys to school and sports practices, the days can feel like a blur. Happy fall! I know, I know, it’s already mid-October and I’m a little late to the party, but it’s just now starting to cool off here in Austin and I can’t wait to finally indulge in a little fall fashion. It’s my favorite style season. The warm colors, luxe plaids, cozy knits, leather boots and structured coats—it’s everything I love. And in the spirit of mixing things up (hello, Gen Z yellow), I’m reaching for more prints and patterns to update my closet. These three caught my eye. They feel fresh, yet totally classic, and are entirely easy to add to your everyday wardrobe. Here are the prints I’m most looking forward to wearing this season. What would you add? Whenever Odette runs out of eyesight, I’m 99% sure she’s in my closet pulling out shoes. I guess you could say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, because I love a good shoe—whether it’s a sky-high heel, classic Converse, or beat-up cowboy boots from my days on Wildfire. I usually live in earth tones, but have fallen hard for the vibrant, punchy shades of yellow you can find just about everywhere right now. Known as Gen Z yellow, the hue is this season’s “it” color and I have to admit I was skeptical at first. Bright colors have just never been my thing. That is, until I discovered this canary-colored bag by Espie Roche. Now that the holidays are over and the new year is already running rampant, January is a month of holiday recovery with a good book and a hot cup of tea. I love getting on my comfy clothes, laying in bed, and reading during Austin’s rainy season. Being cozy is also the perfect time to take out the laptop and do a little online shopping.
