7 Cozy Sweaters I’m Living in this Winter https://nowandgen.com/2020/02/21/7-cozy-sweaters-im-living-in-this-winter/ https://nowandgen.com/2020/02/21/7-cozy-sweaters-im-living-in-this-winter/#comments Fri, 21 Feb 2020 17:33:06 +0000 https://nowandgen.com/?p=5111 Today I’m packing for a fun weekend away with Jared to celebrate our 10-year (!) anniversary. Some people love sunshine and beaches, but Jared knows that the way to my heart is a snowy mountain getaway. While everyone else is counting the days until spring, I’m all about curling up in front of a fire while wearing warm, cozy sweaters. It’s something I don’t get to do very often living in Austin! This weekend is going to be filled with snowboarding, skiing, and hot chocolate by the fire, and I am here for it. Packing was pretty easy because I have 7 cozy sweaters I’m living in this winter, and I’m bringing all with us! This pale blue Kohl’s sweater has quickly become a winter wardrobe staple. There are so many great things to say about it, the most important being that it’s reallllly comfortable. The material is super cozy and soft. And I love that the pretty pastel color makes it easy to wear into spring.  This Maggie Marilyn sweater has been another go-to for me this winter. The cut is incredibly chic and hugs my body in all the right places. Navy is my favorite color and this blue […]

Soup Recipes To Warm The Season https://nowandgen.com/2019/02/04/soup-recipes-to-warm-the-season/ https://nowandgen.com/2019/02/04/soup-recipes-to-warm-the-season/#comments Mon, 04 Feb 2019 17:08:46 +0000 https://nowandgen.com/?p=3535 To me, there is no better comfort food than a bowl of homemade soup. It reminds me of snowy winter days in Idaho and my mom’s caring hands. She would sauté aromatic vegetables, letting all the ingredients simmer and marinate while we were away at school until they made a delicious, rich broth. Coming in from the cold to the finished pot on the stove felt like such a treat, and the aromas made the whole house smell amazing. With its cozy familiarity, soup is still one of my favorite things to cook during the winter months. Eating it makes me feel comforted and I love how making it always seems to bring my family together—whether it’s with big bowls around the kitchen table or in to-go mugs to warm us up on the sidelines while we cheer on the boys at their soccer game. Considering half the country is still thawing out from the polar vortex, it felt like the perfect time to share some warming recipes. Here are my five favorite soups to cozy up to, perfect for a cold day. What are your go-to comfort foods? Jamie Oliver’s Tomato Soup The classic combo of tomato soup and […]

Giving Back with Volvo https://nowandgen.com/2017/12/14/giving-back-volvo/ https://nowandgen.com/2017/12/14/giving-back-volvo/#comments Thu, 14 Dec 2017 21:03:29 +0000 https://nowandgen.com/?p=1243 The holidays are upon us and so is the season of giving. I love giving gifts to family and friends, but I love giving to those in need more. I am so blessed with all that I have and there is nothing like sharing those blessings with others. It’s important to me that my children understand the importance of giving back. Though the boys may be young and Odette still a baby, it’s never too early to teach social responsibility. This year, my family and are holding a toy and clothing drive for the families affected by the recent hurricanes. Put through so much devastation, families from Texas to Puerto Rico are struggling to put their lives back in order and return to normalcy. With so much clean up as well as lack of power and supplies, these families more than ever need to feel the holiday spirit. By rounding up toys and clothes, my family wants to bring Christmas to them. The other day, we packed into our Volvo XC90 to head down to the local toy store to begin on our giving journey. I love buckling my kids into the Volvo, not only because my little zoo can fit securely […]
