We had a creek running through the property and that’s where you would find me in the summer. When I had my daughter I always let her enjoy the outside and didn’t stress on her getting dirty. I wanted her to enjoy it like it did. She loved the snow and would play outside in it until I had to make her come inside. It\s important to let kids be themselves and enjoy what Mother Nature has to give us. I love your camping in the backyard idea. Liz

I grew up where the woods were literally in my front yard. I’m so glad my parents taught me to enjoy life and keep an open mind. ?

Especially between ‘real’ camping trips. And going camping or exploring the outdoors is the thing I remember most from childhood. We used to hike to a place called ‘Pebble Beach’ in Australia and collect colourful pebbles, which my dad would then polish and make into jewellery. It was so much fun (except for that time when I sat down on the trail on a nest of bull ants, lol). Your kids will appreciate the memories they are making from all your trips <3

I absolutely love these ideas! My personal favorite is power off, even though I’m not a mom yet and I’m pretty addicted to my phone and technology myself but I’m trying to remember that there are more important things when it comes to raising children(I’ve always wanted to be a mom, for as long as I could remember) that’s why your post always inspires me.

God bless you and yours!
