I support a few different charities close to my heart and run two major events in our school year that raises a significant amount of money for them. I teach drama and I organise a sponsored sleep over from 8pm until 8am. The kids get sponsored to stay awake. I run activities throughout the night and its a very popular event with my students. I also organise a sponsored dance a thon where the students have to dance for an hour non stop. These two events alone raises thousands and I couldn’t be more proud of my school community. I raise money for the mental health charity ‘MIND’, for my local LGBTQ outreach programme, our local RSPCA (Animal charity), Cancer Research and Autism together. They are all so close to my heart for so many different reasons. I am now part of our school’s eco commitee and we have banned single use plastics in school, we are buidling a mural purely out of plastics donated to us from our kids homes. I will send the picture to you when its complete because I think it is going to be something. I thoroughly enjoy reading your blog, listening to your wisdom and drive, it inspires me so much to think outside the box 🙂 xxxxx
